Why Marriott Bonvoy is my Choice Hotel Rewards Program

Our Thoughts

With a history of business travel, I’d grown accustomed to the comforts of Starwood hotels. When Starwood was acquired by Marriott in 2019 it changed to Bonvoy. The program boasts a variety of properties to stay at and the points transfer to almost all airline loyalty plans.

With a history of business travel, I'd grown accustomed to the comforts of Starwood hotels. When Starwood was acquired by Marriott in 2019 it changed to Bonvoy.

Bonvoy is Marriott’s recently combined loyalty program which brought together Marriott Rewards, Ritz-Carlton Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest.

The new program name was announced on January 16, 2019. Marriot made it crystal clear that its new campaign, “Rewards Reimagined”, was the world’s largest hotel company aiming to boost brand recognition for Bonvoy, plus its 30 other hotel brands. Bonvoy has 120 million members and is arguably the largest loyalty program for a single hotel company.

The program boasts a wide variety of properties to stay at and the points transfer to almost all airline loyalty plans—3 Bonvoy points to 1. My plan? Rack up points then transfer to one of my airlines. Redemption on Marriott hotels and resorts is easy as long as you plan ahead.

Each time I check in, I’m recognized for my loyalty which never goes unnoticed. Plus, the dedicated check-in counters are a perk.
