Many major airlines have unveiled sales throughout December and discounted airfares in the hopes that more travellers will take to the skies after the holidays. While flight sales are common, what makes the most recent offerings stand out is just how much some airlines are willing to discount.
The latest airline to jump on the mega-deal bandwagon? Lufthansa, the largest airline of Germany which, when combined with its subsidiaries, is the second-largest airline in Europe.
Last week, Lufthansa announced their Companion Deal Christmas offer, which offers 50% off selected first class and business flights—so long as you bring at least one friend with you. Solo travellers are excluded–these fares are for groups of two to six people.
Locations include far-flung destinations like Hong Kong, Mumbai, Rio de Janeiro, Singapore, Dubai and Bangkok. Travel availability spans almost all of 2022, with dates between January 7 and December 14. Flights are available from London, as well as Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle and Liverpool.
The catch? You must book before January 11, 2022.
How to Book
The simplest way to book is through the Lufthansa website, which shows flights from all participating airlines (SWISS, Lufthansa, Austrian and Brussels). You can also book online using the SWISS website.
Remember to search for at least two passengers to view the discounted fares. Note that Round-trip Business and First Class fares include all taxes, fees and carrier charges.
Notable business class deals include Cape Town for £1,199, Nairobi for £1,199 and Rio de Janeiro £1,299. Headline first class include Bangkok for £1,899, Dubai £1,499 and Hong Kong for £1,899.
